Staying Open – Hirondelle to support medical patients during the Christmas and New Year Period

Hirondelle Private Hospital will remain open during the Christmas and New Year period, to provide much needed medical and rehabilitation services to the North Shore community.

Hirondelle Private Hospital, located at Chatswood, is a 53 bed rehabilitation and medical hospital with an experienced clinical team who deliver inpatient, day patient and outpatient treatments aimed at restoring function and enabling improvement in all areas of day to day life.

“At Hirondelle we have been servicing the community, around the clock for the last 60 years and will continue to do so over the festive season. Our team of experienced rehabilitation physicians, and Geriatrician will be admitting and managing patients’ that require medical or rehabilitation care over the Christmas and New Year period” said Laura Barnett CEO.

“Hirondelle Private Hospital is experienced in caring for patients with conditions that do not require acute care but cannot be managed in the community.” Dr Helen Wu Geriatrician.

“One of the things our patients love best about Hirondelle is the community feel. Originally a 6 bed cottage hospital, Hirondelle has developed over time whilst retaining the charm of the heritage-style cottage it once used to be. Our regular patients have been known to say Hirondelle is their home away from home,” said Laura Barnett.

Hirondelle Private Hospital has contract arrangements with all private health funds, and also accept DVA and Work Cover patients. For patients that do not have private health insurance we offer fees for services arrangements. A referral for admission is required.

“The team at Hirondelle wishes every one of our patients and the local community a happy, safe and healthe Christmas. We hope that no one needs to seek medical help over the festive season, but for those who do, please be assured that our doors are open and our doctors and nurses are here to provide you with the care you need.”
