Dr Mark Spelman
Director of Medical Services
Dr Mark Spelman is a Fellow of the RANZCP (1990). He is the Chief Medical Officer for Aurora Healthcare & iMH. He is the Director of Medical Services at Belmont Private Hospital which is Aurora’s largest health facility. He is the newly appointed Director of Medical Services at Hirondelle Private Hospital.
Dr Spelman is the Chairperson of the Aurora Health Clinical Reference Group which is the peak body of Aurora Healthcare for reviewing clinical governance for the group. Dr Spelman has over thirty years of clinical experience in the private sector working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In 2001, he was a Foundation Board Member of the Cannan Institute. He has remained the Secretary of the Cannan Institute since that time. This is the registered charity based at Belmont Private Hospital focused on education and research in mental health, particularly in the area of trauma.
Dr Spelman is not available to accept direct referrals to Hirondelle Private Hospital and he will be focused on clinical governance and supervision.
