Professional background
Dr Helen Wu obtained her medical degree with first-class honours from the University of New South Wales. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2017, specialising in Geriatric Medicine. Her main research interests are in the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, and she completed her PhD on biomarkers for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease from the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (UNSW). She is a conjoint clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney and is a staff specialist geriatrician at Royal North Shore Hospital and VMO geriatrician at North Shore Private Hospital. Dr Wu is an experienced geriatrician with special interests in cognitive impairment and dementia. She leads the dementia day program at Hirondelle Private Hospital and accepts outpatient referrals for comprehensive geriatric assessments including cognitive assessments.
